This morning my husband and I went Blueberry picking for the first time this year. We usually go our separate ways once we arrive because he tends to go from bush to bush while I find one bush and stick with it. Especially if the berries taste good!
As I was picking he sent me a text … ‘Turkeys up by the trees’. I snuck down through the bushes and caught them just as they were heading back towards the woods. My husband said they had wandered out of the woods about 6’ from him. Dang those Turkeys weren’t shy! They must have been hungry!
To get to the Blueberry bushes we had to walk around a little pond. Frogs were everywhere poking their heads up out of the water, giving me the eye.
All washed up and ready to eat! My girls already ate about a third of the berries right out of the colander!
Since we’re talking ‘blue’ here I thought I’d throw in this blue dragonfly, an Eastern Pondhawk. It might look blue like a blueberry but I wouldn’t recommend eating it ; )

I love your mosaic - especially the way you set up your fantastic photos with the words below. I've been blueberry picking, but only in the wild. I love your frog photo.
The berries you picked look like wild ones. The farm where I went recently has cultivars I guess because the blueberries were huge.
They sure are plentiful up here and I filled 2 baskets and part of a bucket from only 3 bushes.
I hope the blueberry season is longer than the Strawberry season, I never did manage to get strawberry picking. The Humidity rolled in and "wham" the season was over. What ya going to make with all those beautiful berries? I highly recommend Tasha Tudor's Blueberry Cake "receipt." Love those turkeys.

Blueberries, my favorite. I love your mosaic! I used to pick berries with my daughters when they were little. Such lovely photographs, and a wonderful reminder of summer scenes.

When we were kids on vacation in NH we would sometimes get to pick blueberries. we always had metal peanut butter pails. My mother told me once that I ate more than I left in the pail. Thanks for bringing back a good memory. Now2, blueberry muffins, pancakes and shortcakes made from fluffy biscuits. Yum!

I picked up some blueberries at the farmers' market today. They were just about gone by the time I got home! I think berries of all kinds are one of the best things about summer, don't you? That is so funny about the turkeys. I love the look the frog is giving you. I have a feeling the dragonfly might be giving you the same look...hard to tell with a dragonfly! Beautiful.
I love bluberries! I bought a few bushes this spring and I'm hoping they take and give us fresh berries next year.

Oh, how I love blueberries too, and the fact that they are so bountiful in the summer and not $5/pint helps too! Must have been fun to pick your own and enjoy them. :c)
What a wonderful idea for a mosaic. I love the blueberries, and the wild turkey strolling down the path. What a great shot. I really miss seeing those guys. We don't get them here in the burbs. I miss the country life so much.

Wow - what an amazing collection of blueberries. From a UK supermarket the cost of a small tub is about £3.00 - that's about $2. I love blueberries in my porridge! x

Looks like a scenic place to go blueberry picking! You have those nice high bushes to pick from! We went picking this past weekend on my in-laws property and they have the low bush (they actually look like little plants) blueberries. Time for some blueberry pancakes!

I think my skin is starting to take on a blue cast what with all the blueberries I've been consuming lately. I love them! Such a pleasant day you spent in the blueberry patch.

Those darn turkeys. We have members at work who tell me that the turkeys spread out their wings over the blueberry bushes and wave them till the berries fall on the ground.
I picked blueberries too - at the grocery store! Your way of picking and eating and taking time to enjoy nature sounds so much more enjoyable. Wish I could!! Love your photos - thanks for sharing!
We go at least once, if not more, every year, It is great for the kids and a little "therapy" for mom also..the kids are actually quiet while stuffing those little beauties in their mouths :)
