Brass Lyon is the name of the shop below. How I wish we could have gone inside but as I mentioned in my previous post, time was tight, so I looked longingly through the window instead.
I had completely forgotten until my husband mentioned it that we had eaten at The Grog many years ago with some friends. It was in the middle of winter, freezing cold outside, and I had no idea where we were. But I remember the food as being very good. Judging by the amount of people inside and outfront it's a hopping place!

This was my favorite store. I would have MADE time to go inside but they were closed.
Isn't it something how they just leave so much stuff outside? You would think they would be worried about theft. Guess not.
How I love this photo but I wish someone had trimmed the grass. It bugs me. Where's a weedwacker when you need one?
Of course this is a miniscule showing of places to visit in Newburyport, MA. You just have to go there yourself to see what a beautiful place it is!

Newburyport is one of our favorite places - Plum Island being close by has nothing to do with it ;) - All photos are good, but I especially like the first with the steeple silhouetted against the evening sky.
These pictures are so good. I love the way the brick is scalloped above the awnings at The Grog. All the interesting things on the outside of the shops make you want to go in. Your picture of the fence with flowers peeking out is so pretty.

oooh, picture one... nice, but picture #9 with the old metal gate is my fave. Old gates just speak to me whether intact or not. Great job, girly!

Such a neat place...it looks like everywhere you look, you could take a photo. I loved those boat and paddle window boxes for flowers..how innovative!
It is just a beautiful area....and then to have a sunset on the way home?

What a lovely New England town. I told my husband to put it on our "to visit list" after the Clam Shack in Ipswich, that is. I feel the same way about the grass, needs a little trim.

what a lovely tour. The evening light made it even better than bright sun would have. I'm amazed that some of those things aren't stolen when the shop is closed. Compliment to the town that they aren't afraid of crime.

Beautiful photo series Sharon! Sharon and I stop at the Grog everytime we finish birding out at Plum Island. Awesome restaurant. In the winter, after a cold morning of birding, we stop there for a bowl of chowdah... warms you clear down to your soul!

That's an idyllic, picture perfect spot. I would love the Brass Lyon, too! I love model sailing ships. I also really like the shade of blue on the Stock Exchange building. And, that sky! Stunning!

I just love your photo's of New England, it makes very envious. I live in Cornwall England which is itself beautiful and I can't imagining living anywhere else, but I would love to visit your part of the world. I am a little curious though, this last photo of driving home, it appears you are driving on the left side of the road. Could this be true or is it me?
