Do you remember my post, 'The Mrs'? On my way home from Mom's yesterday I stopped in to see how she was doing. It appears she's fine, though I imagine with the colder weather coming on she will soon be heading for the bay where there is less chance of ice. Maybe there she'll find a mate for next Spring.
A shot of where the Mrs. actually was (she's hiding behind the reeds in this shot). It's is a prime example of our foliage this year ... a bright tree here and there but in general, due to all the rain we had earlier this summer, the leaves on most tree's are turning a goldish-brown and then falling. Thank goodness for those few brilliant beauties!
Waaaay off in the distance she swam, back and forth, in and out of the vibrant red shadows. These are the moments when I wish I had a better lens, or a better camera, or a better something!
She left a beautiful red wake
Until next time my dear lady friend . . .

* Mom update: I wanted to let you all know my mother is still hanging in there. She had a cortisone injection in her spine on Monday morning which has helped to ease some of her sciatica pain. Yesterday was the best I'd seen her in a while. Hopefully it will hold out until she see's the surgeon!

Wow Sharon! These are excellent! And so glad to hear your mom is doing better!
You did great with those photos. I like the colors.
beautiful photos, makes this Yankee living in Texas miss fall time in N.E.
Sharon, these are amazing. I hope this lovely lady finds a mate, isn't she elegant. I'm so glad to hear the shot helped!xoxoxox
stunning. I hope she finds her mate and that your mom is feeling better!
I love the reflections, and the red wake!!
And I hope your mom continuees to improve!
GORGEOUS! These photos define what autumn is all about. It's why people flock to your part of the world every fall. Takes their breath away.
Glad to hear your mom is doing better for the time being. Constant pain just wears a person down so glad to hear she received a shot to help.

Beautiful swan. Your photos look great.
Glad to hear your mother got a little relief from the pain.
first...good to hear your mom is doing better though i know you are waiting anxiously for visit to surgeon.
beautiful captures of the mrs in her pond. the reds of autumn make her picture perfect.
Need to flick back and read that previous article. I don't know if you are aware but I was always told that swans are very much into the whole 'soul mate' situation - i.e they find one partner and then that is it. If they die...no more, no other love/partner. It is for life...so if Mrs had a Mr...I worry she might remain that way now... beautiful beautiful colours in those pictures...
Glad to hear your mum's pain has eased somewhat. xxx
Gorgeous foto's. The beautiful swan and the fall colours go so great together.
Great oooooo-ahhhhs shots!
I was thinking of your mom this morning, thank you for the update. I had a corisone shot in my spine on Friday as well, it does take a couple of days to work and has helped me tremendously, I get one every 6 months.
Your photo's are absolutely breathtaking.......:-) Hugs
First, I am pleased your Mom's pain has eased after the cortisone shot.
Second, I can't get over the beauty of your photographs. The reflections of autumn colours are wonderful. I don't think there's much wrong with your camera.
The sparkling array of red and orange colors in the water make for a beautiful backdrop for your swan friend! Beautiful photos!
Hope your mom feels better soon - I know sciatica pain makes it so difficult to get around.
HI,
I don't think that you need a better anything. These are spectacular pictures!
Glad your Mom has some relief..keep us posted in her progress.

amazing photos. hope your mom is ok and all goes well with her!
You don't need a better camera, these photos were AWESOME!!! Fantastic!!!
Is this a wild swan or a tame swan at a park? Does she live in that pond or did you just by chance see her?
Aren't they wonderful??? I LOVE the way you caught her in the color of autumn. When I found the swans in that one beaver dam pond (on my blogpost recently) I was hoping the leaves would be in more color and that I could get a closer shot of them, but they were wayyyy back in the far side of the pond, with no way to get closer, because there were swamps on all three sides of the pond.
These shots are fantastic, congratulations!!
Glad to hear your mom is getting some relief, Sharon. Awesome photos, as usual! I also loved the cemetery photos... just beautiful!... Donna
Hi Sharon,
I had to stop by and see what amazing photos you've taken lately, and these are just 05281989breathtaking. Just beautiful...
Your swan photos are lovely. The foliage reflections are beautiful.
You are right about the color this year. It's kind of hit or miss. When
you do see some good color it's breathtaking.
Hope your mother finds some relief soon.
Oh Sharon, that is soooooo beautiful! You captured the lovely reflection just perfectly.
So glad to hear your mom got some relief. I will keep her in my thoughts and prayers.
I'm glad you all enjoyed the photos. It was a wonderful autumn scene.
Yesterday I was out that way again so I stopped by just to see what she was up too. What do you know she had a mate! Where he came from who knows but they were swimming side by side. Hopefully it's a match made in Swan heaven!
Sharon
Your autumn photos are gawjus!! Continued good healing thoughts for your mom.

Great photos! Swans are always a great subject but with calm waters and the Fall colors.... even better! Glad to hear improvement for your mom from the injection!
Oh, what lovely colorful reflections, Sharon! Truly beautiful!
I hope each day finds your mom a little better. My husband had cortisone injections for two herniated discs, and they made a world of difference, along with physical therapy. He is still doing his exercises religiously a year later.
Those photos are just gorgeous. There are enough bright colored trees to give off a wonderful show. The reflections are beautiful. Mrs. looks like she's holding up well without a Mr.
Glad your mom is doing better.
So glad your Mom is doing better. The photos are wonderful! Such grace and beauty and then add in all that color......wow!
The reflections in the water are so beautiful. Hope your Mom is pain free until that surgeon visit!
Forgot to mention that I gave you an award. Please visit my blog to get it.
If you don't want to participate it's ok.
