I had a some time to myself yesterday so I took a drive up through York, Maine. Had hoped for some sun and warm temps but that didn't happen. It didn't seem to bother this Mockingbird though, whom I found in York Harbor. All he cared about was singing his little heart out! I think he knew every song in the book too!
I thought for sure as soon as he saw me he'd take off so I shot the video from behind. When I finished I walked around front and took a few regular shots and he just kept on singing away. There were 3 different kinds of berries in the bushes below so somehow I'd guess he was staying put!

Thanks, Sharon. The mockingbird is my all time favorite. Great close-up shots!

So cute!
What a happy post indeed.
This if the first time I've heard a Mockingbird. Would wonder how it sounded like ever since I first read Harper Lee's To Kill a Mockingbird.
Wow, what a beautiful bird and your pictures are awesome as always.
I have never seen or heard a mocking bird before so thank you for showing the pictures and video,
What a great songbook he has! :c)
Beautiful photos and song. I love the last photo. What a nice treat to get to hear it sing.
Yeah, he has that robin and blue jay down.
He was guarding those berries. :) Several years ago I had some that would sit on the power lines and fuss at my cat if he was outside, and would often act like a "dive bomber" and attack him.
Have a great weekend.
I feel like I can touch him!
I love this. Love being able to hear the bird in the video and look at the gorgeous photos at the same time. Nicely done, Sharon!
Wonderful Sharon-did you capture the video with your phone or your camera?
Thanks for sharing this songsters vocals. FAB
I love mocking birds. I know they can be cantankerous sometimes, but they're brave and pretty.
Nope - he wasn't going to leave his food find for anything!
Gorgeous :)

I love York and in summer having a lime ricky at the goldenrod and strolling down the streets past the shops. Sitting on the rocks at Nubble light watching the waves. Running along the beach. Not much for swimming there, turns your legs blue its so cold, even in August. Love the mockingbird. We have so many here in Texas and I never tire of watching them
I have never seen one of these in person before. Thanks for doing the video, it was really neat to hear one singing.
Oh, isn't he just too cute, Sharon!! Love your little video of him - and fantastic shots! I know what you mean about it being COLD yesterday. Amanda and I headed to Concord, MA to wander around a bit and we were both happy to have jackets and scarves on ... Of course the day before I was out in a t-shirt! Gotta love New England! Hope your mom's feeling good :)... Donna
Sharon, The Yorks are one of my favorite places. We always went in the summer and visited the Goldenrod and bought tons of taffy (Kisses). We would go in the water and turn blue, but we never wanted to leave.
I had a male grackle on my fence last week, he sang at least 6 different songs, who knew?
Great pictures and story as always.
beautiful bird, love the video!
And this little guy has no idea how many of us are enjoying his singing..isn't that fun?
Hay Sharon... already commented earlier but am having a scarf giveaway and wanted to make sure all my readers know about it. Come on over and leave a comment if you think you would like it.

Love these!
I just love the Mockingbird!
What a gorgeous bird. I didn't know what a Mockingbird looked like. Now I do. :o))
The video made me laugh. It really sounds like he's chattering away to himself or running through his repertoire of songs. Happy little fellow.
This felt like a touch of Springtime again.
