Located near Rye Harbor is this adorable little pocket garden. I photographed it once before but how could I resist giving it a second chance!
Ever since my husband bought me a Nikon D5100 for my birthday this past month I've been revisiting some of my favorite old haunts. Funny but when I bought the Fuji s100 fs a few years ago I did the same thing ... reshooting many seasonal shots I'd taken with my smaller camera. I don't know about other people but there are some places I am drawn to for photography over and over again.
Isn't that garden gate the sweetest thing?
And who can resist a white picket fence? New England and white picket fences go hand in hand. Throw in an ocean view and you've got a recipe for summer perfection!
Every year I pine for a white picket fence of my own. Where it would go, who knows. Surely there has to be a place in my garden ... somewhere! I'll find a spot!

One of my goals this summer has been to drive down to Rockport, Ma. and shoot the gorgeous gardens in town, especially the hydrangeas. It hasn't happened yet. This Thursday may be my last chance before the flowers take a turn for the worse. It's a little heart breaking to see but some of the trees in the marshes are already turning red. Not to mention the school busses will be running next week.
To every season turn, turn, turn ... but does it have to turn so soon?
Like the gulls, all we can do is enjoy every last moment of beauty August has to offer!

Good grief! Look at my photo, holding a Kodak Easy Share. That was taken 6 years ago. That tells you how I've neglected old Blogger. Ha!
Hi Sharon. The only line is see is the one in a block across the top just under the date. the header photo has a crimped light grey edge. Your photos are gorgeous. I love the picket fence and the sweet heart in the gate. I'm always taking pics of the same places too as they change with the seasons and the years. There's always something new to see in them isn't there. I also noticed a whole lot of red trees along a lake where the water has been high all summer. And our own maple trees are starting to get a tinge too. I'm so not ready for fall to be here yet! Enjoy the last nice summer days. Pam

I see a grey line around the entire header area like a huge rectangle. It's very close to the right and left side of the page. Rather odd. I use Chrome in case you need to know.
I do see the dark grey line on the right side as well as under the date of this post.
But, who cares because your photography is breathtaking!
These pictures have me wanting to be in New England right now!

Delicious photos, as always. I love a crisp white picket fence, too. I'm feeling torn, for the first time, about the passage of summer and the approach of autumn. There is so much beauty here on the prairies at this time of year that it's hard to be melancholy about the changing seasons. I definitely have my favourite haunts for photography - most of them right in my own back yard, lately.

Great shots! Hard to believe Summer is almost over. Children went back to school on the 5th here.

Hi Sharon, Gorgeous images – I love your sea photos as they are so evocative. Revisiting locations is definitely something I do when I have new equipment or just want to get a different view of it.
Your blog looks fine to me. I'm in Safari and I can see the sidebar and the decorative border around the header but no extraneous lines. I'd hate for you to have to go to a Blogger template as it's so fiddly. I hope you can sort it out otherwise.

For these photos I used a couple options available on www.picmonkey.com to add my blogs name. You can also download picasa (it's free). There's a nice option there to add your name to your images. Hope that helps!
