NYC Memories

As I plan a family trip to NYC in April I can't help but remember our trip to the Big Apple last April 19th. The same day the Pope was in town. The same day it was 80-something degree's. The same day we walked miles upon miles, and lost my daughter on the subway. The same day I ended up very sick.

Hopefully this trip will be a little bit more enjoyable as we are staying IN the city, plus my husband is coming along so I won't end up by myself on the bathroom floor with the paramedics picking me up and taking me to the ER. Lucky him, he had to drive down to Stamford, CT (a 3 hour drive) with a friend so the friend could drive my car and the girls home, while he sat with me in the ER for several more hours. Food poisoning ... total exhaustion ... not sure what it was I had but it wasn't part of the plan. Ah yes, the good old days ; )

There are some good memories though and this is one of them:

The girls and I had stopped into a cafe' for something to eat and drink, as well as cool off and rest our feet. When we walked out the door I noticed this man and his adorable little dog sitting in a car, obviously waiting for someone.

I'm telling you this dog lives a better life than I do! Aren't they so freakin' adorable? If my husband owned a porche I can guarantee he would NOT let the dog ride in it. He doesn't even let the dog ride in the car he owns now and it's a Subaru! lol!

I've always wondered what happened to the little dogs ear. Attacked by a larger dog perhaps? Is it a rescue dog? Either way, the lifestyle it leads obviously makes up for any previous hardships.

That sounds like a wicked trip to the city. I'm sure your next one will be a lot happier! I'm waaaaay overdue for a NYC "fix"... it's time to plan a trip. Have you been to Ellis Island? and the Tenement Museum? Both very worthwhile.

That is the cutest dog. My husband would freak over those little nails scratching the paint. However, he doesn't fuss too much over the nose prints our pooch leaves on the truck windows.

I definitely hope this trip to NYC is much more fun. The last one sounds horrible. What's worse than going to the ER? Going to the ER while you're out of town. Blech.

Cedar, the last two times I've been to NYC it was only for a day each time. This time we're going for 2 days so we can do some sightseeing. Hubby would much rather go to the Bahamas : (

My husband doesn't like the nose prints in my car either. His car always looks like brand new so he can't understand why mine doesn't. Luckily he cleans it for me! Yes, and the toenails ... yikes!

That is such a super cute dog! Doesn't seem to go with the dude in the car though. Must belong to his girlfriend! :)

The only time I have been in NYC was in the airport and I would love to go there and spend about a week. Great photos.

I hope we have a great time this next trip too! Thanks for the inside info Nikki, I appreciate it.

Stepping Thru, you really should make the trip. NYC is something to be experienced by all. It's not just a place to go, it's a 'feeling' once you get there!

I'm thinking if the dog looks like it does, just imagine what the wife/girlfriend looks like!

Happy Sunday ladies!

I've only been to NYC once and it was in high school. I just remember being overwhelmed at the sheer size of it all. :c)
What a cute dog! Yes, you can tell that sweetie is pampered.

Well it sounds like this next trip will have to turn out better than the last one. I had one of those kinds of trips in the Bahamas but it was my boyfriend who got sick.
I can laugh about it now.

That dog is adorable! I hope the dog is being spoiled. I always spoil my pets!

Oh my goodness! She looks like she's waiting to meet man of her dreams. So lady-like. I have 2 female pugs, who are wonderful but not quite as dainty:)
