Heron on the green

I haven't been shooting much lately but I still try to photograph something most every day. Usually while I'm out running an errand I look around for something special to show you. Something that catches my eye. I have this horrible fear of running out of photo's to publish! Ha ha!

Today I went to apply for another job. On my way there I looked for places to stop on the way home. I love this local river and had hoped I'd see someone out wading through the water, fly fishing, but there wasn't a soul around. I scooted down towards the water just a little more to look under the bridge and this is what I saw . . .

Many of the leaves here still haven't changed. You can see the green reflecting down onto the water giving it a very interesting color. I just thought it was really something special!

When I went up onto the bridge and looked down, the water looked black. How you look at things in life can make all the difference.

So who's watching the Chilean miner rescue efforts? Oh my gosh, it's so exciting! I can't imagine if it were my husband down there. What really freaks me out is that capsule. Nothing like being wrapped like a sausage for 15 minutes . . . shudders . . .

I love the color of the water, Sharon. How exciting to get a shot of the heron down there.
I've been watching it and feel the same way. It's amazing that they're all doing so well.

Beautiful Heron pics Sharon..
Yeah..going up for fifteen minutes in a cramped tube..scary..great rewards at the end of the tunnel..though i read about a few whos wives found out they had mistress ..could be interesting for a few of the fellas.

I wish them all a safe return.

Yes, we've been watching the news on the rescue efforts and praying that all might go well! So glad they are this far already, when at first it was thought it would be December. It will be awesome to hear their stories.

Your photos constantly amaze me! You always manage to find great subject matter!

2nd one on his way up now!!! Hallelujah! I think the heron was waiting for you to get his photo. So maybe there will be leaves for me to see on the 21st?? Will be here before I know it. It's been 25years this month since I've been to Rye.

I love the way the colours are reflecting off the water.
Also love the heron (or is it an egret?)

It has been a most dramatic rescue - I had to stay up to watch the first one come up.

Wow....it's like he was posing for you!!!!

My watery photos are shrimp boats coming in and a sailboat going out. Do stop by if you get a chance.

It's as if he was standing there waiting for you Sharon!

I kept thinking... I know they said that most of them have lost 20+ pounds, but still... that is one tight looking tube. I can't wait to see the very last one pulled out.

Hi Sharon,
Beautiful shots of the heron. I was determined to stay up last night and watch the first miner brought up and I've been watching all morning. Amazing!

You continue to find awesome photo ops, Sharon! And thinking about being in that capsule for 15 minutes freaks me out too. I was getting claustrophobic watching them down in the mine!

Perfect timing showing up there & catching this guy hanging out! Beautiful captures.

The situation w/ the minors is very exciting & I can't watch very long or I start crying... so happy they're finally getting out!!!

Gorgeous shots. Just gorgeous. Why oh why don't you just send your photos out to National Geographic and other nature publications? Then, taking photos (your JOY, Sharon) and then selling them can be your job! No supervisors breathing down your back, telling you what you can and cannot do. And you, utilizing your talent! Think about it, Sharon. Susan

It's interesting that the Heron appears to you so frequently and in unexpected places. Did you know that the Heron represents Healing Medicine? In some native cultures it also represents Patience, Grace, and an Easy Going demeanor. It's also a Loner.

Heron is one of my Spirit Guides.

P.S. Good luck with your job search.

Blessings,
Carolynn

I'm going to say it again... Beautiful pictures! That Heron is gorgeous. Isn't it wonderful when we come upon something unexpected like that? It's like receiving a surprise gift.
I watched the miners rescue, too. What a fabulous event to witness.

I love how you captured the movement of the water, too! Beautiful bird!

I was glued to my TV to watch the rescue! I was overjoyed when all the miners came to the surface!

Oh what glorious photos. They are, well, picture perfect. I love them. I've not really been keeping up to date on the miner's rescue... we don't have cable or anything... just computer and netflix... but I will have to check online today to see how it's going.

Good luck on your job hunting!

Blessed Friday to you,
Susan

Beautiful photos! I, too, watched the rescues in prayer for the miners. Thinking about how much I hate enduring MRI's, I can only imagine what being in that capsule would feel like! I'm sure they tried to focus on freedom and light just above!

By the way, I've added your blog to my blogroll! ;-)

Fantastic photo.
Yes the news from Chile this week was just wonderful wasn't it?

Hi Sharon.
The unexpected is what makes photography fun. Glorious shots at the river. The Chilean rescue was enthralling but not sure I could cope with such a cramped, dark space. FAB.
