Autumn splendor for Mosaic Monday

I thought I'd give the Storyboard action from The CoffeeShop Blog a try and this is what I came up with.

A mish-mash of different views. All of these are photos from 2 years ago.

Top left to right:
  • Scarecrows from Wolfeboro, NH
  • White Birch in the White Mountains
  • Pumpkin bins from a local farm stand
  • Mums from my own front yard
  • A view of Lake Winnipesaukee from Mount Major on Columbus Day
The foliage this year is less than stellar so I had to dig into the archives.

We have gorgeous yellows but the reds and oranges just aren't there like they usually are. Still, it's a nice Autumn. My husband had the week off and I wish I could say we did something special, like a trip to the mountains, or lunch at the beach, but it didn't happen. We weren't feeling it, plus the weather wasn't all that great.

Well, we did do one special thing ... we rushed the Pug, aka Winston, to the Emergency Vets on Tuesday night for vomiting and diarrhea. Yup, that was a fun one alright. The boy ate mushrooms in the yard and ended up so sick he was hemorrhaging blood. The vets wanted him to spend the night, to the tune of $1,200, but we decided to bring him home (around 1:00 am) at a 1/3 of the price. He was quite tired the next day but fine. We kept an eagle eye on him in case he needed fluids.

Tomorrow my husband goes back to work, the girls have the day off of school because of Columbus Day, and I'll be going to an interview in the morning for a j-o-b. Hubby thinks I'm going to sabotage the interview on purpose so I don't have to work. Heee heee . . .

I hope you have some beautiful colors where you live. If only the mental stimulation brought on by Fall could carry us through the long, and cold, and brutal New England winter that lies ahead!

Guess what! It's Mosaic Monday over at Mary's Little Red House!

Oh gosh,,. poor Winston. So glad to hear he is doing fine AND also that you have an interview. Hope it's for a position you will be happy with.

Rowdy, our boxer pup, was ill and throwing up a week ago. He got into a bit of the tar filler that David was using to fill cracks on our driveway, and on top of that he had sat out in the yard eating pecan shells, sticks, anything he could get his mouth on. He seems to have the eating habits of a goat! HE was so sick.

Winston probably rested easier at home that night. Sending him a hug.

I absolutely LOVE the new header!! And we were fortunate enough to have some reds/oranges this year, but they were very brief. I did catch some great photos of them, but haven't had a chance to sort through my CF drive. They are still sitting there, untouched from two weeks ago. How sad... I need to get my butt in gear!

Poor puppy. Glad to hear he is on the way to recovery. I love the pumpkin people. Your new header is gorgeous. All your autumn shots are lovely.

Poor pug...they will eat anything, won't they? (I have a grandpuggy.)

Gorgeous pictures of foliage no matter what year. I have thought that the reds aren't quite up to snuff this year myself. Maybe, I'm not dreaming.

Poor Winston - Hope he is much better now! Enjoyed your mosaics & the lake view is so pretty.
No real Fall color here and don't think there will be much this year as it has been so dry.
Good luck on your job interview (if you want the job). :-D
Have a great week.

Poor little Winston. But I am glad to hear he is doing much better now.
Your pictures are, as always, wonderful. I keep saying that because it is sooo true. I love your husband's remark about working(or not). I have had such an exhausting week so I really believe that if you don't absolutely have to work...don't! Since I haven't had a chance to blog this past week I am just catching up...your previous post's sandwich and pies look so delicious. My two favorite pies.
When I first moved to CA I kept my Yankee subscription going for years...it was hard to part with. I hope you have a wonderful week.

Hope Winston is feeling better. The colours have been very beautiful here, but did not last long. A few windy days and it was gone. Enjoy your week.

Glad your dog was OK! That must have been awful to go through. I hope the foliage improves as it gets colder as I hoped to take up trip up to NE in the near future.

It is beautiful to see your fall colours as in Australia our trees are ever green so we only see autumn colours if someone has a tree in their yard. It is wonderful to be able to see photos from the other side of the world. I love that tree on your header piece - what a wonderful place for a tyre swing!

I'm glad to read that your dog is fine.
What a great lot of scarecrows in that bottom mosaic! I miss the reds and golds of an autumn in the east.

As always, your photos are stunning! The fall colors in Ohio are a bit muted this year as well.

I'm glad your pup is feeling better. Hopefully, he'll know to stay away from those mushrooms in the future.

Good luck at your interview! La

Give Winston a big hug for me. I hope he's all better today!

Seriously -- you need to call the tourism bureau in your area and be their photographer. Your pictures are incredible -- and they definitely make me want to visit!

Good luck (or bad luck - so you can stay home) on the job interview!

Very beautiful images, Sharon! And I love your header photo, too. I spent some time in New England in the autumn three years ago and had a wonderful time. Never been there in winter, though. I don't think I could manage it. Thanks so much for your visit! – g

Whoa! Mushrooms can be dead.lee. Sounds like Winston narrowly escaped that little tastings session. Poor little guy. I'm very glad to hear it was a happy ending.

Good luck on the j.o.b.!

Nice photos. We're definitely feeling a chill in the air these days.

Glad to hear your dog is OK. It's so scary with pets because they can't tell us what is wrong :(

Love your photos! I live in LA and we don't get real falls. I guess it's becuase we don't have many trees and the temps stay pretty high.

I'll def be back to visit your blog to see all of the fall pictures :)

Omigosh, poor Winston -- I hope he is feeling better! These are such beautiful images, Sharon. I'm hoping we get some more color here before the leaves fall from the trees...
