A golden glow

Just a few simple photos taken in my own yard. Nothing fancy.

Just a little, teeny hole to let the sunlight through.

It seems there's plenty of yellows and golds this year, but reds are starting to make an entrance.

For the container next to our front steps I used a mixture of left over summer plants and added the Kale and Mum. It looks good to me! I've yet to buy any decorative pumpkins but since my husband is on vacation next week you can bet we'll be making a trip to a local pumpkin grower!

Or maybe we'll go to the church I went to last year . . .

Sometimes there is nothing more I love than to wander my yard with my camera. It often makes me find inspiration I never knew was there!

Last year I went to the church in Portsmouth with my friend to buy pumpkins for her Fall decorations. Wish we had that sort of thing in UK, I love to see all the different shapes and colours.

Some of the trees are just starting to turn down here in central IL. I love that first photo!

There's a beautiful tree I pass on my drive home from work. It has red leaves in a sea of yellow and with the sun hitting it, it looks like it's on fire. Stops me in my tracks every time I come around the corner.

Love your container garden - I love the ornamental kale. I have not bought a pumpkin or mums just yet, but may this next weekend.
Enjoy your weekend.

Beautiful photos. I'm in New England too, and we thought maybe the foliage wouldn't be too brilliant this year because of the very dry summer, but the leaves are changing with lots of color after all!

I love all them, and your container is beautiful. Fall is not complete for me without a few pumpkins on the front steps. Cute doggie looking out the window!

We're not seeing really any color just yet as it's just now cooled down a wee bit. Love your beautiful planter Sharon... and see a cute Lily peeking out of the window. :c)

Hope the leaves last as I will be there in 3 weeks. Love the container on your porch! I'll be visiting my aunt and uncle that live on Wallis Rd in Rye. Is Petey's a good place to eat?

I see your little doggie is giving you orders! You have put together a lovely container of flowers and plants.
It has been so warm here so I'm really not in a fall frame of mind yet. Yesterday I did pick up some pumpkins but they are just sitting here until I get it through my mind that it really is fall!
As always, I love visiting your blog. Hope you are having a great weekend.
