For the past several years the First United Methodist Church in Portsmouth, NH has been selling Pumpkins to raise money. Since I was working just up the street I couldn't resist stopping by!
They have an excellent variety and competitive prices!
My husband figured the grey pumpkins had been crossed with Hubbard Squash, but most of them were crossed with Gourds.
There is also a white tent filled with gourds and pumpkin-pie pumpkins

This year I'm partial to white pumpkins but if I were going for a creepy Halloween look I'd buy the gray ones. They almost look green.

These are fanatastic photos that you took. I imagine you laid out on the ground snapping these at the pumpkins eye level. I see these blown up poster size and in glass architectual frames. Lovely. Sea Witch

But seriously, you brought a wonderful touch to the photography. I've noticed a big rise in designer pumpkins this year. B was looing over my shoulder and got all excited about the shots. (Hmmm, she never gets excited about mine.)

These are SOOOOOO FUN!!! I wish I could grow all of them!! Pumpkins need a LOT of water....no wonder they had a great crop this year!!!

Isn't it funny how picking out just the right pumpkin can be such a personal decision?
One of the women working there told me all the Pumpkins are brought up from New Mexico of all places! She also said this was the first year they've received some of the variegated ones, which by the way are my favorites!

You take such gorgeous pictures! I love all the different kinds of pumpkins. I've seen the white ones before, but never the gray ones or the white and orange ones. Pretty cool!

I LOVE these!!! But eee-ewww the ones with the "pimples" on them would not be my choice...looks like those pumpkins are diseased!!

O! the pumpkin photos are just wonderful, I love the holloween look of the orange ones BUT! the grey ones we call Queensland blue down here in Australia and they make the BEST! pumpkin soup ever.......O! if only I could get my hands on them now!!!

Beautiful photos! I just love those uniquely colored pumpkins...I found a light blue one last Fall and it was my favorite! Interestingly enough, it still looked beautiful in December...I don't know if they last longer or what.

Beautiful shots, Sharon!! I remember doing luminaire pumpkins one year (those white ones), and using a hole punch tool, I created a work of art that I'd seen on the cover of a Martha Stewart magazine. I should have taken photographs.

My favourite shot is the last one, with the pumpkins covering the ground in front of the church! They pick up some of the colours in the stone!
