It was tough trying to choose which pumpkins I liked the best and in the end I'm not sure I did, but I'm happy with what I have.
I really wanted one of the orange varigated varieties but $20 was enough to spend on 3 pumpkins. The specialty ones cost a little more. The three of them look nice with my planter and should last quite a while.
This is the first year I've purchased the rose colored decorative kale. Aren't they beautiful! I put them in all 3 planters around the house.
Phineas sat looking out the door, watching and waiting for me to come back inside. Usually the dogs will sit with him but this time they were outside with me.
A couple parting shots of the gourds and sugar pumpkins.
Some of these funky gourds now sit in a decorative container on my kitchen table
I do love you Fall. If only you could stick around a little longer *sigh*

I like the really weird looking pumpkins and gourds when we travel to the pumpkin patch. My favorite pumpkins are the flat orange Cinderella pumpkins. So cute.
Love all the spindly stems in the last photo. :-)

Hula Girl, is that what they're called? They didn't have those but they are available at the local farmstand. I like those too!
Di,you're right, the stems make the shot!
Sharon
You chose well! They are beautiful!!
Love the pinks in the fall flower arrangements, Sharon! And Phineas looks adorable sitting at the door - just like a little doggie waiting for you!
Beautiful pumpkins. I like the 'warts' on that ornage one. Makes me think of witches and all that.
LOve your pumpkins. I especialy like the one with the wards. Don't know why but that's the one I would choose too. I love your Siamese cat. We used to have one. It ran out one day and was probably stolen because we never saw it again
Sharon it looks so pretty but I see you got a bumpy one. :-) Eeeek

What a choice of gourds. I am jealous. Love your photography!
You take lovely photos. And your pumpkins are very picturesques!

That is so awesome! Great variety in those pumpkins. I love their colors and textures. They look great with that planter.
Great choices. I remember many years ago, you usually only had a couple of choices of pumpkins to pick from - at least in my area. Now, there are so many different varieties. Your urn with the Fall plants is very pretty.
Look at that adorable kitty! :)
great pumpkin selection...so like that greyish-white one... and the gords in the last pic are interesting. nice capture.
ADORE the chosen ones. LOL Sea Witch
You chose well, my friend! Love the kitty-cat watching you from the door.
Those stems on the gourds are crazy looking!
Thanks for sharing these great pics!
Isn't it so hard just to pick a few? My husband always gets exasperated with me when we go pick out pumpkins because I want them all! The colors, textures and sizes are just too hard to resist! We're going this Friday, so we'll see what I come home with! You made excellent choices!
Howdee Sharon,
Cant believe its fall already! Seems like it was just yesterday that all you New Englanders were saying how long and cold the winter had been..
hope you have a milder winter this year!
Beautiful decorations! Love your style.
This is the glorious season in New England. So much color, the humidity is gone, the temperatures are just right and life’s good.
That's it? is not what I was thinking. It's perfect what you've chosen. I love those colors and the small bit of orange is just enough; the texture only adds to it. Beautiful!
Love the pumpkins you selected. I am thinking of buying the kale too.
It looks so pretty.
Poor Phineas had to watch from inside. Mine have to stay in too, it's safer that way.
Those gourds are really interesting. I wish Fall lasted longer too. The color is a little disappointing so far. As I recall, last year's color was much more brilliant.
your arrangement looks fantastic.
I love the long stems on that photo with all the gourds...they look whimsical!
Love that little orange knobby one!
Loved all your photos - especially Phinease through the door - too sweet!! The churchyard filled with pumpkins is so beautiful! You really capture New England with your camera - great job, as always!!!... Donna
fall, i love you too!
Love these, Sharon, especially the funky gourds with the twisty stems!!!

Hey - stop by my blog. I have an award for you.
That looks fabulous!
I was amazed at the prices of pumpkins this year...
My daughter and I ususally go crazy when buying them, but this year we held ourselves back. (just a tad...)
:-)
The Kale is just beautiful! I love that there are so many plum and purple shades around right now. And those last gourds are great--kudos for the harvester who left the long stems!
Hi Sharon, I just viewed your outdoor decorations and I love them. The pumpkins surrounding the planter look so nice. You have a lovely place and lucky you living in New England.
Connie
I had no idea there were so many beautiful varieties. Those are so awesome. I love the ones you picked.
I love kale for fall decorating, it seems to last for quite some time. I believe we choose the same pumpkins. I added a cinderella, my personal favorite. Pumpkins were a little pricey this year, but you got to have them. Your planter is lovely!
Argh!!!!! Do you know how much I'm loving your blog and photos with every minute that goes by?!!!! xxx
