Have you seen the movie "The Proposal". It's in theaters now with Sandra Bullock, also has Betty White. It was filmed in Rockport and Gloucester but made to look like Sitka, Alaska. I thought it was a cute movie. Love these photos of this area, makes me wish I lived by the ocean.
Wonderful shots Sharon! I can smell the sea air right now,my windows are open! My brother-in-law grew up in that lighthouse,his dad was a career man in the Coast Guard. The public can visit the lighthouse.It's on a private road but if you tell the gate keeper you are visiting the breakwater & lighthouce he'll let you pass.
I don't think I would snapping pictures if I were there! What a lovely refreshing place to visit! I just love the seashore! I love the smell of the ocean air!
Your photos are always so refreshing. It's like taking a mini-vacation coming over here. I can hear the water slapping against the hull of the boat and the keening of the seagull as it wheels over the lighthouse. So beautiful.
As Jay says, you can visit the lighthouse. Bring your binocs. This is surrounded by an Audubon property and is a good place for birds. Take a walk out on Dogbar breakwater and just soak it all up!
