After the rain

It rained all morning, not to mention we've had off and on rain for the past few days now. Finally the sun started to break through and what do you suppose was the first thing this Robin wanted to do?

Yeah, that makes sense ... not

The little sparrow just wanted a drink to wash down all the peanuts it keeps eating from my feeder! After several minutes of being splashed it finally gave up and flew away.

The Peonies are hanging heavy with rain but you can see it was drying fast on the bricks

I discovered a bloom about to make an entrance on my enormous Hosta (which you'll see more of soon)

I might have helped the drop along ... just a little

At this point the air was becoming steamy. All that moisture was turning into haze which made quite a showing this afternoon while the girls and I were in Portsmouth and New Castle

Perfect Wisteria

The photos are great. Especially the Peonies. One of my favorites. I only wish we could grow them here in Florida.

LOVE these pictures, and especially your new header, Sharon! The wisteria is gorgeous! You're definitely behind us a few weeks on the peonies - mine are all bye-bye-bye!

Beautiful pictures, though hard to pick a favorite, I love the full picture of your garden. Your pictures make me lonesone for home as the seasons in New England are very similar to New Brunswick (Canada). Thanks again for sharing your beautiful pictures.

those birds are crazy! Your flowers are beautiful. I've never seen a hosta bloom like that before so I'm interested in more pictures. It looks like something south western.
I was glad the sun came out as my daughter graduated last night and they had a boat cruise over nighter as project grad.

that robin looks like he's laughing! Loved the closeup shot of the group of peony blooms with the rain on them.

Peonies are my fave. As for the hosta, well, the crummy deer have already eaten mine down to nubbins... :-(

I loved all the photographs. Too bad rain always does a number on the peonies.

Oh my gosh Sharon, your peonies are amazing. I love your new header, too, with the pink geraniums and purple petunias. Looks like you are finally getting sunshine...!
many hugs...

Very pretty. I have never seen wisteria that gorgeous. We just experienced the worst rain/hail storm we have had since we moved here ten years ago! MR B is on the roof repairing the gutters.
We are hosting a BBQ for about 80 people tonight! Let the sun shine!

I hope you had a wonderful time with the girls!

Oooooooo....those flowers are all gorgeous and so are the pictures of them. You have a very pretty yard!!
We can't grow Wisteria here, it is too cold....
our peonies aren't even CLOSE to blooming...they are barely getting their buds now.
I can just smell them in your pictures.
Beautiful catch of the water running off the leaf...!

Mmm! Peonies, my favorite. I can't believe you still have wisteria around your area. Ours was gone around Memorial Day. It was lovely while it lasted.

Going to Portsmouth real soon.

I love the pictures of the rain-drenched peonies. And I'm glad to hear that you've spotted a bloom on one of your hostas. I hope that means ours will start blooming soon too!

Your flowers are beautiful. No luck with my peonies. :( Poor little bird - hope he finally got a drink.
