It was New England as usual here yesterday and Mother Nature, or should I say Old Man Winter gave us a reality check (Mother Nature could never be that mean).
Just when we finally had some warm beautiful days . . . WHAM! We're hit with another snow storm! This time of year it's usually the heavy, wet stuff too. The kind that is difficult to shovel but great to make a snowman with! If my daughter hadn't been so sick she might have just done that too.
These are Blueberry bushes. The same Blueberry bushes Elise and I picked from last Summer! I believe you'll find a link to that fun day over on the side of my page (*Blueberry Bay Farm). Seems they have a while yet before they'll be yielding any fruit.
I was trying to shovel off the back deck, that way it's easier to let the dogs in and out, but Lily REALLY wanted to play ball! "Come on mom, throw it, throw it!!!" And so I did . . . again and again
And so her feet looked like THIS!
It took quite a while for all the abominable snow balls to melt off. Lily hates to have her feet touched, though I did my best to pull off what I could with a towel. Wet snow and her hair do not mix!
This little one, a Pine Siskin, sitting there in the tree making a zipper noise at me while I shoveled. He was so close! All he wanted to do was get on the feeder and eat, but the thistle feeder is on the deck so he was a little nervous.
"Are you done YET???"
Yep, I'm done

We had another 5 inches in northern michigan! Surely the snow must stop soon! Loved the photos of Lily - looks like she has cotton balls clinging to her legs!
Oh, how sweet that Lily is! If she ever needs a vacation from winter she can come play with Handsome.. he loves tennis balls too!

it was sooo nice too... we spent so much time outdoors and now this.. blah! its freezing out today too..... spring please stay!
The amount of snow you are getting is unbelievable. I think I would be sitting down to have a good cry if I were you. :)
Lily made me laugh - oh my gosh, she must have been out there playing for a long time to get those huge snowballs on her legs! Sorry for your snow - ugh!
It looks amazing! I love snow!
There you go having conversations with the birds again Sharon! ; ) I think your birdy dialogues are my favorite. That Lily is such a tomboy. Do they make uggs for doggies?
xxxooo
Lily's legs look like snow dingleberries...lol! I'll bet you had little puddles all over the place.
Love that last shot of the siskin. Too cute.
It's 82 here today (ducking the snowballs being thrown!) :c)
Snow here too,.. and after that wonderful day yesterday. But what the hey,... it can't last much longer now!
Your dog is sooo cute! I love her feet.
The weather, oh my, such a tease over the weekend then boom another hit from Winter. The ice was the worst. When is it gonna end?
The snow is beautiful but I bet you are sick of it. I hate to tell you this but I think I got all the beautiful warm weather. I think it's finally here to stay.
I've been away. Had so much on my mind. Feeling better but John's not feeling well. He saw his doctor today.
The past two mornings on my drie to work I've seen 1 wild turkey in the field by our house.
The birds have finally forgiven me and they are back at their feeder. It's almost empty now. Lots of cardinals.
Have a great week.
Saturday, we went to a sugar house in North Andover,MA and Sunday I went to a sugar house in Chester, NH. Monday, it's off to work in 5 inches of snow. By the time I got home, there was another 5 inches by the time I got home. Springtime in New English. I hope Lilly thawed out okay.
Sharon, your photos are breathtaking. I can't believe winter isn't letting up! This MUST be the last of the white stuff.
Those snowcakes and balls on Lily make me laugh and remember our Cocker Spaniel "Casey" during the snowstorms. Getting those balls off was not an easy task!

Amazing how much snow clung to the legs. I bet that gets heavy after while. Glad you had fun.
Poor puppy! Is it still early enough to say "in like a lion, out like a lamb" because truthfully, I could use a little lamb weather soon. It's -43 here.
:(
Love the picture of the snow on the dogs fur! So cute!!
I have a feeling that's the last of the snow for us! It had at least better be!
SO Sweet!!! I really feel for you guys Sharon. Daisy and Lily are two of a kind. I have to bring her in and put her legs in luke warm water to get the snowballs off. She loves to get them but can't stand getting them off...must be so uncomfortable.
Oh Sharon, I'm so sorry. Spring will come soon... it has to, right? Hang in there!
Oh Sharon...what beautiful shots!! The Pine Siskin on the snowy branch takes my breath away!
And Lily is adorable!!!
What a difference a day makes. How cute is Lily with the snowballs. The little bird is precious. I think the warm weather has come to Florida to stay. In the 80s today. Almost time for the AC. Hate to see those light bills!
What a wonderful post, Sharon! Your dog is SO cute! I laughed at your last picture of the bird...... and you have a knack for coming up with JUST the right captions!
I couldn't believe that snowstorm either, especially after such a mild weekend. Those snow balls on Lily are funny! Although I'm sure she didn't think so!
Love the pics, so jealous... here in NC we hardly ever get anything like this, Many Blessings, Janna
