A day well deserved ~ Mosaic Monday

On Wednesday my husband and I took a drive up to Wolfeboro. We hadn't been in a couple years so I was anxious to go back. My one regret while we were there is that I didn't take any pictures in town. I don't know why, I just didn't.

On our way there we drove near Lake Wentworth . . .

We followed a sign that was supposed to take us to the historic site of Governor John Wentworths home. You can see the dirt road we drove down in the upper left corner. When we arrived at our destination it was a plaque on a rock and an old stone foundation. That's about it. He didn't have the best view either because it didn't even overlook the lake with his namesake!

In the two bottom photos: A tree growing right up over a big rock, and Lake Wentworth on a very calm, cool, and quite autumn day.

The view out our window during lunch in Wolfeboro: A squirrel eating his meal of Maple Tree seeds.

Above and below: Views from the dock over looking Lake Winnepesaukee

My husband catching a few rays

An old wooden boat cruising across the lake. It must have been cold out there!

A Loon weathervane on Alton Bay

And finally a bad picture of us that I tried to salvage with textures and such. I used the timer, and we took several shots, but they all came out horrible. This was the best of the worst.

We had an excellent day. Wolfeboro was glorious as always. As we made our way back to the car we happened to walk past Jimmy Fallon who was about to enter Garwoods Restaurant with an older couple, possibly his parents, who knows. Being that it was such a quiet day, no one else was around, just us. We didn't say anything to him though, just stared like crazy and walked on by. Kind of a weird moment that took us both by surprise. He was awesome on the Emmy's!

After taking a week off I'm going to try to get back in the blogging groove. Pretty soon I'll be starting a new job which I hope will give my life the shot in the arm it desperately needs right now. As much as I was dreading going back to work I think my spirit needs the distraction.

Looks like a wonderful day. Lovely reflections in the water and I really liked the loon weathervane and the gulls ... silly critters! Nice to *see* you! :D :D

Why would you say this is a bad picture of you two? I think it is really nice!

It looks like you have some pretty fall color up where you are. Our colors have been very muted this year.

How exciting to see Jimmy Fallon while out for the day.

Best of luck with your new job. La

I like the picture of you and your husband! If I laid down on that dock like that, I would not be able to get back up. :-D
Thanks for sharing your trip - great pictures. You have lots more Fall color than we do.
Have a great week. Good luck on your new job.

I love the picture of the two of you! How can you say it's anything less than wonderful...you can't! I love it!
I can see all the fall colors and they are so deep and rich. Is it toward the end of leaf season now? I also love the loon weathervane.
Good luck with your new job.

That is a lovely dirt road, even if the end of it was disappointing! And I love the tree growing over the rock! Thanks for pointing it out, as I did not see that til you mentioned it!

Great post and lovely photos! Your New England fall is glorious.

We attended a destination wedding last October and Kristen Weig was a guest. It was so hard to remain calm and cool :)

Love the serenity and beautiful fall colors.

I think that's a great photo of you and your husband! Seriously. It doesn't need textures because it doesn't need to be salvaged :)

And I can't believe the colors/leaves down there. We've lost every leaf and the trees are as bare as winter already!

These are all wonderful...I think the "best of the worst" was fantastic so I'm obviously not your worst critic. The squirrel photo is magazine worthy...just amazing. All the best as you head back to work...

That's neat that you saw Jimmy Fallon!
Lovely pictures. My favorite is actually the one of the squirrel. I miss squirrels! They were everywhere in Connecticut but there aren't too many of them around here in Iowa--the hawks like to eat them!

I think you did a great job of salvaging the photo of you two. Looks like a wonderful day. Can I go on field trips with you? Maybe we could look for a husband for me in one of the little shops. . .

I think the photo of the two of you is great and I love the texture! I think the New England area is so beautiful at any time of year and I cannot wait to visit again. Good luck with your new job!

And yes, I love PW Boost action. I ran it on the "fair" photo before adding the texture. I love all of her actions!
