For the past 3 days, in the heat and oppressive humidity, my in-laws, husband, and myself have been painting our house. Yellow.
My husband was not impressed with the color at first. I think it's growing on him though. For years I've wanted a yellow house with white trim and black shutters/front door. I had hoped we would be able to change the siding first but it's not in the budget. Instead we paid to have wisdom teeth removed. And braces. And ... well, you know.
If you look up towards the top window you'll see the old green color (Sherwin-Williams Svelte Sage). The trim boards have since been painted.
New color: Sherwin-Williams Enjoyable Yellow. It looks rather orange in the can but goes on a gorgeous sunset yellow color. I just love it. In the next week or two I'll be planting Daisies and Coneflowers in the garden for a great showing next year. I'm also going to add a fountain.

After a long day of painting I went over to my next door neighbors and picked some yummy raspberries for muffins. A few blueberries in the mix adds a little something extra. You can find my standard recipe here.
What did you do on this glorious Sunday? I love Summer!

Very pretty yellow, your house is so nice!
The muffins looks delicious! Very jealous, my raspberries didn't do well this year! Nice the neighbors share :)
I really like that yellow - most I don't as they are to bright. Muffins look good also.:)
Have a great week.
Love that yellow! Your muffins make my mouth water, absolutely yummy! Just need me a cup of coffee!
I agree with you, the new yellow color is perfect. The muffins look so yummy! Have a great week.
Forgot to add, we celebrated my daughter's 20th birthday at Chili's today. That's what we did this weekend.

Your house and gardens are gorgeous, sharon!
We are renovating a house across the street from ours (it's over 100 yrs. old!) and we did it in yellow with white trim (we are putting white gingerbread on the porch)...I love yellow houses, too, they are so cheerful looking. I hope to post some photos soon when we get it done! Great job!!
It's a happy yellow and also easy on the eyes. Wouldn't mind having a yellow house myself.
It's beautiful, Sharon. I love this color!!
It's as delightful as its name.
I painted my house yellow a few years ago and when it was time to paint I painted the same color! Yellow is such a happy color, even on a gloomy day!
I love the house and copied the recipes. Blueberry Raspberry muffins here tomorrow. YAY and Thank you.
I found a link to you on Sun pours down like Honey - an appropriate name for your beautiful new paint colour?
I love your house. I love all things New England - please don't think me mad but I feel I have lived in New England in a past life - I look forward to reading all your earlier posts.
I like the yellow color also. Very pretty. Sunday I celebrated my son's 2oth birthday as he is on leave from the coast Guard. It's great to have him home. I love summer also.
And, I think after all that hard work a beach day is in order for you!
Oh, I like the yellow a lot Sharon! Great choice. So clean and cheerful. The muffins look divine... I can smell them from here in GA!
Great choice for a color, Sharon. Just love it as it's cheerful and bright. We did our kitchen in yellow (Morning Sunshine it's called) and I love that , too. It's a great way to start the day, even when it's dark outside. Great job! Susan
Oh I adore the softeness of that yellow! I would say they chose I great name for it - very "enjoyable"! And YUM YUM on the muffins!
I love a gentle yellow, and am getting ready to paint our living room a shade that seems to dance between a pale, rich gold, and an enticing, rich yellow!
Blessings on you painting in the wretched heat!
Thanks for the inspiration today on the mosaic. I have partaken myself today!
I like the yellow on the house. So pretty! Those muffins look wonderful. Thanks for sharing the recipe.
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the yellow, Sharon! And when you said you were painting it yellow, I thought to myself - black shutters would look great - our minds think alike! Great job!
Oh, I like this color. And the daisies and cone flowers will add a lot to it. I think it will look gorgeous.
Thank you for the yummy photos of your raspberry muffins. Oh, those look so good. I think I am baking today.
Have a great day,
Susan
I like it! It's sunny & cheerful & refined.
My Sunday was spent with The Frenchman just enjoying each others' company. We have just the one day off a week together, so we do our best to relax and not get caught up in busyness. After a scrumptous breakfast, we rode our bikes along the waterfront for a few hours, sat in the sun & watched herons fly by, and then finished the evening with a movie & a bubble bath. *smile*
What a soft yellow color, perfect for a home in New England. Your raspberry mosaic is delicious. I think it's time for blueberry buckle.
What a lovely house you have and I love that yellow. Makes it sunny and friendly.
Have a great day.
i'll give you a two thumbs up! i love yellow. such a peaceful happy color. great job! and the fruit looks divine!
I'm a really big fan of yellow so I'm enthralled with your color choice...
We live in a yellow house too. Yours looks wonderful.
I agree, a yellow house is grand :)
I spent hours at the church decorating and painting backdrops for bible school. Whew.
I love a yellow house, and the shade you picked is great. Perhaps you will understand why I'm so excited about the raspberry, blueberry and blackberry bushes we planted this year.
I LOVE a yellow house with black shutters. I've loved every one I've ever seen! Yours too!
My daughter painted some walls yellow and isn't pleased and I will tell her your yellow color.
Love the raspberry mosaic too.
The raspberries look delicious. I've got golden raspberries in the yard and they never make it into the house. Everyone eats them right off the bushes.
I think you chose your colours wisely. It looks lovely and with the new plants added it will look dynamite. Good job.
Oh Sharon, what a pretty color! It will look so beautiful with Shasta daisies and coneflowers. And your raspberry muffins look wonderful! thanks for sharing at MM. :)
beautiful renovations and those muffins look so yummy.
I've always wanted a saltbox house in taupe with white trim and black shutters. Good for you for going for your dream! It looks amazing, so do the muffins!
Your house looks wonderful. I like that shade of yellow. I have a yellow house too, but it's not a pretty yellow shade like yours, it's an unfortunate 70s yellow shade.
WHat a gorgeous shade of yellow. I am planning to paint a bedroom yellow some time this summer. Whether I will actually find the time to do that, in between enjoying time at the beach, remains to be seen.
What a lovely shade of yellow! Not too bright, kind of mellow, yep, just right! You have a beautiful house!
Those berries look delish, as do the muffins!
your pictures are beautiful! I just stumbled on your blog - New Englander myself :raised in VT, live in MA now (born in NYC, but we don't talk about that). Thanks for sharing those beautiful shots!

raspberry muffins.
Not much reminds me of my childhood, my Mom in the kitchen, more than a batch of hot from the oven raspberry muffins, picked from our place.
I love a yellow house too. (Is that too much love?) It's true!
