Except for a couple previously taken shots (the first one below, and a couple others) the rest are from my lunch with my Texas friend, Nancy, last Monday afternoon.
Several of the images are pretty poor quality but taking great photos wasn't really my aim. Enjoying my brief time with Nancy was all that was really on my mind. That said, let's go to Petey's!!

Blurry, but as you can see it's a pretty basic interior with booths all around.
When we arrived the restaurant had just opened so it was still very quiet. By the time we left the parking lot and most of the seats were filled. And it was a Monday. In October.
Walking through the door to be seated you go right past this boat. The first booth on the right after the boat is where Nancy and I sat. I just realized something, in all the times I've eaten at Petey's I've never had a view looking out over the marsh. What's up with that?
We didn't order lobster but one placemat fits all
The view from our table ... the parking lot. Across the street and behind the houses is the beach/ocean

The reason we came ... the food! Both of us had the fresh Haddock sandwich with fries and a pickle. I believe it was $7.99. The fish fillets were large, fresh, and delicious! For an appetizer Nancy ordered fried Zucchini strips. They were quite good but a bit too much for us to finish. It was a Texas sized portion!
There we are! Nancy ate like a bird. Me, I was hungry!

Walking past the side of the building heading outback towards this . . .
We really had such a nice, relaxing day. First we went to New Castle, then Petey's, and finally Target (for an emergency curling iron), before it was off to the train station. Since the Boston bound Downeaster came through at 2:06 we didn't have much time to waste, and for a moment I thought she actually might miss it! No such luck.

Hopefully I'll get to see you again next year Nancy!

I'm convinced that this is the only area in the country where you should eat haddock. We can ship lobsters all over the world, but there is nothing better than haddock right off the boats.
The haddock was AMAZING, though I can't say that in Dallas we have much to compare it to. : ) I had a great visit, Sharon, I have no idea why it surprises me that you can make art out of everything around you. Gorgeous photos!
How I love Haddock. AND your photos too! Looks like you had a great day both with the weather and the company.

Sharon, your happiness in seeing your friend really shines through in this post!!
Oh I'm so jealous! Petey's is the best!
I loved the shots with the colorful buoyas.....(spelling?) and the old boat full of them...really captures the flavor (forgive the pun!) of the place.
Jealous! What a colorful and fun restaurant. Wish I could have joined you!
I first read this at 9:20 am but couldn't leave a comment for some reason at that time. What I wanted to say THEN was that reading this post and looking at the pictures made me want to eat that fish sandwich, and it was only 9:20 IN THE MORNING! LOL! Nothing like fish when you're on the East coast!
You asked if I've been up your way. We drove my niece up to the Boston area once. We've lived in VA, and vacationed on Chincoteague Island, and gone to Rehobeth Beach, DE and Ocean City, MD, but we've not go up to Maine, NH, and that way. Some day. :)
Looks delish! Someday I'll be able to eat friend zucchini and french fries. Gosh, I really miss them!
Don't you just love restaurants like Peteys? I've never been there but I try to go to the restaurants that aren't chains. The places where the locals go.
How nice to spend time, however brief, with a friend. Looks like a lovely day.
What a fun place, and the food looks wonderful! Glad you all got to spend some time together. :c)
Just stumbled across your blog - I love it - great photos and it reminds me of when I used to live in New England as a child. Petey's looks wicked - would love to go there! xxx

What a fun place. Oh haddock is my favorite but we don't get it around here. Do you think they would deliver this far. Probably not!

Just stumbled upon your gorgeous blog. I grew up in New England (Maine & NH) and your photos really capture the spirit and feeling of New England. There is no place in the world like it... Just beautiful!
I need a trip to New England! (Next summer!) We just moved back north from FL!
I love the photos, my favorite is the last one!
