It was short, sweet, and lovely all at the same time.
The Peonies bloomed and then it rained. And rained. Then the sun came out so I cut off the dead flowers. And then it rained. And it's been raining ever since. As for the flowers in my header photo? They've all just about died too.Till we meet again next June under hopefully sunny skies
*June facs for NH: 4 sunny days, 0 days over 90 degrees, only 3 days over 80 degrees. Told you it was bad.

The peonies look like you must be feeling of late with the lack of sunshine. It's partly cloudy here today but will take the temps in the 80's any old day to be honest. That's one of the reasons we moved away from Arizona. You would do well there, that is if you could deal with over 100 degrees for 5 months in a row.

looks like the same fate my suffered from here in virginia. as much as i eagerly anticipte the peony blooms, i so dislike them for their short bloom season. now are that is left is green leaves...alas

I hear ya! We have had about a week of rain straight with highs only in the 50's and 60's. We have only had about 4 days in the 70's, three awful days of humid 90's and back down to the 50's and 60's!
We had a long winter, a cold spring and now a mostly cold summer. UGH!!!
Your pretty peonies lasted a couple weeks longer than mine! We've had fall like weather the past couple days - I'm ready for some sunshine!
Those are lovely and I'm sure you enjoyed them while they lasted. I never did see a peony over here this year...
I love peonies. Sorry the rain did them in. I planted 2 - one only came up a few inches and the other about a foot tall then stopped growing?? If I could, I would send you some sun and warmer temps from here. Hope it gets better for you.

We were just in CT visiting friends and family and we had 2 nice days. I feel so bad about all the rain New England has had in June....plus to come off of a above average snowy winter...that's just not fair!
I have to say Central Virginia weather has been beautiful. We have had some rain but not much and the weather has been mostly in the 80s. I hope it gets better and soon!
Bummer! Rain Rain go away..come back once a week at 2 am rain for 1 inch..then go away..
Hope that works..I will also do my twirling un rain dance!

Since my sister first turned me on to your blog I must admit I am addicted! Your photography is an inspiration. Our family is originally from the Massachusetts area and we have many family members still living there. I have heard of many of these places you photograph for my entire life but have not been able to see them for myself. I never realized how much I have missed. Thank you.
This weather is discouraging however, I am not giving in to it. I vow to replant!
I'd hoped to be sending along some better weather from here in the Adirondacks,... but alas! Another day dawns overcast and humid... do you think it will .... rain? My dairy farmer son told me yesterday that he's behind in haying. No wonder why, is there!
Hi, I just came across your blog. Your photos are wonderful. I am here in Mass. and yes, we are on our fourth straight week of rain and 60 degree weather. We are hoping for a sunny Fourth of July weekend. Hope you have a nice weekend.
Things are looking up here a bit. I've actually seen the sun this morning for a minutes for the first time in what seems like forever! They say it will be a good week-end too, but locals remain cautiously optimistic, unable to believe it unless we see it with our own eyes.
