A Gentle Snow

DSCF6828

Our first snow of the season. Not a very impressive one, but a gentle start.

This is Lily's favorite time of year. She loves, loves, loves the snow! To her it's refreshing, crisp, and invigorating. Wish it made me feel that good!

On the driveway, some freshly covered bunny tracks headed towards the road. Our road is not all that busy however that bunny really takes a risk putting itself out in the open. We still have plenty of Redtailed Hawks in the area.

And one of the regulars who probably is enjoying seeds recently stolen from our bird feeder. He's a healthy looking specimen, don't you think? Darned squirrels.

This morning it was 13 degree's when the girls headed out to school at 7 AM. By Wednesday, 50 degree's and rain. After that, more cold temps and snow in the forecast.

I'll be working at at gorgeous house on the beach all week, which will be a real hardship. lol!

Great pictures. I could go all Winter without snow. We don't get snow that often, but it creates havoc around here when it does. Darn squirrels is right. There so many around here, and are destructive. Thank you for being a follower of my blog. Hope I don't get to boring. I could not find where to add you to mine, but I have you on my Favorites, and check often for new posts. Have a great day.

Sharon, I was curious on how much snow you got and it looks much like the snow we had here in Mass. It is so cold out today that I don't want to go outside for anything. I guess we can look forward to 50 degree temps and rain on Wed too. HA, you just gotta love New England.

I love the picture of Lilly. I bet she is a lot of fun in the snow. The first picture with the snowflakes on the grass is so nice. I can't get over how well your camera picks up on the detail of each flake.

Enjoy your time at the beach house.

Oh, I wish Lily would have known our Max. He loved the snow too... was a real snow plow and all the neighbors would laugh at him having a good time. He also liked stormy, windy days and also thunderstorms. Missy on the other hand is a scaredy cat.

Love the snow on the grass shot!

Sharon - in that first picture, it almost looks like snowflakes on the ground but it is just the way the snow covered whatever is growing in the grass - so cool! Glad to hear you're painting!

Sharon, it looks like Lily has her once a week wash and set at the salon!

Gorgeous picture - the snowflakes in the first one are marvelous! I looove the snow, and although I know I can be a terror for travel etc. I seem to have Lily's outlook. Bring on a Nor'easter!

We got that gentle snow on Sunday down here in Connecticut too. I like the photos you took of it. They show just how light and pretty it was. Your dog is beautiful!
Have fun working at the beach house this week!

Yup, Gloucester got the fluff stuff too. Say, that squirrel does look fat. May I suggest putting up some owl boxes? ; )

We got our first snow here in Western Mass too. Just a little bit but it stuck because it's so freaking cold!!! Loved the pictures and have a nice time down at the beach!

Lily is asking mom to "please turn the snow up a few notches, mom"! Sharon, your weather widgey looks like she is going to overhaul an engine today in that outfit. Mine has her midriff exposed (and she probably has tattoos somewhere, too).
hugs from balmy Texas...

Yes, we have some very chubby squirrels around here, too. It was warm but gray here today, and rain expected for tomorrow. I'm waiting for a really good snowfall to take some photos... How pathetic is that? LOL
xoxo,
Mary

Sharon,
Brrr... that is just too darn cold!
I love to watch the redtailed hawksm as you know. They seem so wise and cunning. And they have to be to survive. There must be penty of little furry animals in the area for them. I don't know if they squirrels would be part of their diet.

Have fun in the beach house. I am glad you have work for Christmas:-)

I was so bummed that we got so little of it. Like the pictures you snapped though!

How pretty. I'm glad you got a gentle snow. I got torrential downpouring, my aunt got a storm of ice that knocked out power to her entire town. Your weather wonderland is a lot prettier.
