What a beautiful day it was this past Saturday! The sun was shining between high, thin clouds, temps in the low to mid 80's, and the perfect day to make the trip to Fuller Gardens!

Fuller Garden entrance/garden shop
There are actually several parts to Fuller Gardens:
Side Garden (aka the Rose garden which you see in this post)
Lydia Fuller Garden
Japanese Garden
and the
Front Garden
as well as a Conservatory

The view overlooking the side garden, greenhouse conservatory, and carriage house
Commissioned in the 1920's by Alvan T. Fuller for his wife, Viola, the gardens were eventually opened to the public in 1958 per Mr. Fullers request following his death.

The bee's were a buzzin' and plenty of them too! I'm generally not a big fan of bee's but they wanted nothing to do with me, just the flowers.

Most of the statuary in the gardens was brought back from trips overseas by the Fullers, including the one on the left. A work done by one of Michelangelo's understudies, E. Zochie.

There were Dahlias, too!

I look forward to sharing more photos with you from our visit!

My great aunt loved the peace rose and often talked of how she loved peace. People didn't realize she meant a rose..

I have wanted to visit the Fuller Gardens since I was a teenager, and never have! Well, it's not on my bucket list! Thank you for the beautiful photos!
Hi Sharon,
I needed to see some pretty pictures this morning and knew I could find some at your place.
I scrolled down to read your previous post - being the crazy dog lover that I am - and have to hold tears back. When I saw the first picture of the old dog, I was horrified that somebody would expose an it to waves. But as I continued to read and see the other pictures, I know you are exactly right about what he was doing. I think it was a final act of love. It is so sad and your pictures and description are quite moving. I'm glad that dog had somebody to love him so much.
And yes, you should definitely take Lily there next time and cherish that time with her.
Your photos are like paintings Sharon! wow!
Flowers are so uplifting - how beautiful!
Wonderful visit to the garden! Lots of great photos!
I had to go and have a cry after the next post, for the poor old dog and all the ones I have lost in my own life...
