'I Do's' with an ocean view

So the other day I showed you some images from our walk along the York Harbor cliff trail. Well instead of going back the way we came we decided to take a little trail that brought us up to York Street/Route 1A. We thought it might be nice to walk along the main road and look at a few houses. So glad we did.

One of the first homes we walked past was this one. It's located right on the ocean and we figured at least 150 years old. They have their own tennis court, and from what I could see, a second home, which is probably a guest house.

We also went past the beautiful York Harbor Reading Room (a must see). If you remember from my previous post we had to walk up some stairs along the path. They're located just over there on the other side of the fence.

And what do you know, there was a wedding about to take place right there in the yard overlooking the ocean! Several people had stopped to watch, waiting for the bride to make her appearance. After about 5 minutes she came out of a home across the street and looked stunning.

I love the simplicity of her gown, not to mention she is absolutely glowing. Thankfully the rain cleared out the night before and it was a perfect day for an outside wedding.

Just face it, you know you're envious. At least I am!

She finally met up with her groom while dad shakes the JP's/ministers hand

Beautiful bouquets tied to the gates the bride walked through after she crossed the street. From there it was onto the private club for the reception. If my husband weren't with me I would have stayed to watch the ceremony, but you know how that goes.

What a day!

Hello fellow New Englander. I'm from down the road apiece. Maine is a beautiful state. Wonderful photos. I have a few, though I must have taken 2000, I just took last week on Martha's Vineyard. I can't remember how I found you blog but I'm glad I did.

Gorgeous photos, Sharon. If the bride happens across your blog, she's going to wish you were her photographer for the day!

Thanks for your sweet comment on my recent STRESS post. No, no meals on wheels or visiting nurse. Right now it's just my sister and I. In time I'm sure we will need to tap into some resources, but for now it is what it is :)

Have a wonderful weekend. The rain is supposed to clear ... yeah!... Donna

Hi Sharon. Yes, I tried a different format for my blog and I am definitely NOT a computer person. I'm not happy with the style or layout, but am too chicken to keep fiddling around with it, for fear I will mess things up royally and not be able to correct them. haha... Donna

Oh my, what extraordinary pictures.
The pictures of the bride with her dad(I'm assuming)are so beautiful. I love how she is happy and glowing and dad is very melancholy.
Beautiful. I hope you can find the brides name and send her a copy. She would find it a blessing.

Also, your new look is wonderful.

Oh. MY. That place is wordlessly gorgeous and the wedding absolutely stunning...right overlooking the ocean. Who could ask for more.
If she was smart, she would have booked YOU to be her wedding photographer.
