Salisbury Beach State Reservation

Salisbury A guy my husband knows recently told him about the Salisbury Beach State Reservation. His family goes every summer and he claims to love it there. Yesterday was a gorgeous sunny, fairly warm day so my husband, I, and my youngest daughter decided to make the 1/2 hour trip to Salisbury, Massachusetts.

We had a wonderful time though the ticks were definitely out! I don’t usually think of there being ticks at the beach but my husband pulled one off his back and another couple pulled one off their dog. After that my daughter and I steered clear of any grass.

A few more individual photos:

salisbury boat harbor seals I’m not sure if you can see them or not but there are Harbor Seals sunning themselves all over the rocks in front of the sail boat. I cropped the photo quite a bit as they were pretty far off. The sand bar on the opposite side is part of Plum Island.

I thought this was a great shot of my husband. There’s been a lot going on lately with work so it was nice to see him look so peaceful. Of course it was right after that he found the tick on his back.

DSCF6827b This is not our dog, but he liked hanging out with us all the same. He/she kept running back and forth between his owners and us and the water. I just though he was pretty cool.

For more Mosaic Monday head on over to Mary’s Little Red House where there’s always a good turnout.

*I made my mosaic at www.picnik.com. Once it was completed I added a bit of Sepia tone to it. Picnik is a pretty cool photo program!

Love these photos! I always enjoy seeing your part of the world. Sure hope your husband's job situation gets better. The economy and job situation has taken a tole on some members of my family and it has been very difficult. :(
Have a great week.

Oooooooooo, I loved the seagull photo, Sharon. They were all lovely, though. Don't know where that is in Massachusetts. Glad you had a peaceful time but oh, I wouldn't like the ticks. Sincerely, Susan

You live in a gorgeous area. New England is one part of the States which I think is really gorgeous - perhaps because it's close to the ocean.
I love Picnik too. It's a great site.

Lol! I didn't think that little doggie was one of yours!

Beautiful pics, as always! I love the ocean. Makes me want to be there. Never heard of tics so close, though. Hmm...

Looks like a beautiful place to visit.

Thanks for the link on mosaics. I will definitely give it a try!

Loved these!! And the seals??? SIGH!! I would have been ECSTATIC to see them.
We are in Florida now (awaiting the birth of our newest grandchild) and we saw a manatee and 2 dolphins this morning right by the dock by our hotel. I was thrilled but didn't get them on camera. (dang).

I didn't know this was in Salisbury. I would love to just sit there and watch the ocean all day. Sounds like you had a nice family day.

It's so refreshing to see beach photos! That means that summer is nearly here! :) Great shots!

The blue in the sky in the shot with the gull is fantastic. Looks like a new banner, to me! I also think that the shot with your husband is pretty special, too. You might need to frame that one, and give it to him to remind him of the peace he was able to find in that moment. (Post tick discovery!)

I thought your mosiac had a great tone to it. I like the beach the best when it's quiet like that or late at night when everyones gone home. Glad you had a nice time.... and hubby got to relax.

Such beautiful photos Sharon and also another lovely site to add to my list of places to visit this spring and summer. My DH travels all over New England for work, because of you The Clam Shack is one of his favorite places for lunch. He promises to take me and also tour the Town of Ipswich, he informed me once I see the village I will want to move! Keep those wonderful posts coming. Oh, I love the mosaic!

It looks like a great place..., ticks on the beach, oh well, I guess it's best then to wear long pans, socks and shoes. I drove down to Watchhill RI recently and there were warning signs up for ticks everywhere!

Looks like a wonderful place to visit! Super mosaic too!

I have never been there but your pictures have made me want to visit. Every one tells me that the ticks are really bad this year. Next time you are in Salisbury check out the Sea Breeze restaurant. I hear from a lot of different folks that it is really good.
