My favorite Vermont farm (Part 2)

Back to the farm . . .

I sure wish I could have gone to Vermont when the grass was a little greener. There isn't much color going besides the barn.

What do you think it was like growing up on a farm like that? Plenty of dirty, hard work yet adventurous at the same time. I think the farm has seen better days. If you noticed in the last post, there's a lot of windows missing in the barn. During the summertime it must be a great haven for Barn Swallows and Bats, along with any other varmint that can find it's way in.

Those are some well used tractors!

One lone tree in the middle of a corn field (which actually wasn't on this farm but I threw it in anyway!)

The view overlooking the farm and Lake Champlain . . .

It gives you a better idea of just how large the farm actually is.

You could live with this view everyday if you wanted to. It's the view from a house that's up for sale. Want to see it?
Click here and scroll down to the bottom of the page for pictures. Not a very fancy place but just think how nice it would be to sit out on the back deck watching the sun go down over the mountains after a long hot day. I could live like that.

If you ever get the chance to go to Vermont, GO. And if you do go take the time to really look around at the scenery and history. Think about the generations of families who have lived there. Farms and views like this aren't what they used to be and many are a thing of the past.

Thanks for tagging along with me!

I hope that it can stay a farm. There is so much urban sprawl in this world. That is a very pretty area of the country. Charlotte is a small town and very beautiful.

Farms are indeed beautiful but their way of life is hard with work from sun up until sun down. I grew up in the farm country of the midwest and it's a tough life even with all of today's modern equipment. I left Iowa at the age of 19.... didn't want to stick around and be a farmer's wife I guess. :-)

Lovely photos!

I'd sit on the porch with you, look at the view, drink iced tea, and hire someone to do all the work! Farm gals we ain't - LOL!

I was not raised on a farm, but visited relatives often enough that did, to know I am not a farm girl! :-)

I, like you, love to look at houses and wonder what it would be like to live right there. I do a lot of driving with my job and am constantly wondering about living in some of the towns I drive through. I need to take my camera along with me on more trips so I can share some of the incredible buildings I see.
Keep the photos coming. I am getting more excited about visiting New England through your photo-tours.

I've been to Vermont twice and there is so much to see. The area around lake Champlain is especially neat! Hubby looked at the pictures and reminded me that the tractor in the picture is like the one he wants...only a newer one! We live in the country, but not on a farm and don't need a tractor, but you just can't take the farm out of the boy. :>)

The space around those farm is enormous. I am a citgirl myself but I heard from family it is hard work. Wonderful pictures again.About the red spots on the lambs on my blog, I think the farmer marked them for fear of them being stolen.

Farms have their own unique beauty! I was daydreaming through your beautiful photos - imagining myself there! I'd be headed over to the animals to pet them of course - lol!

I LOVE the farm! But boy, is that hard work! Both of my parents grew up on a farm and my father still owns the one that he grew up on.

Great pictures, as always. My husband grew up on a farm and says it was HARD WORK!! When we owned a home he wasn't even interested in putting in a GARDEN! LOL!

Love the cows in the field. :)
