On Saturday morning I went to the local Waste Water Treatment plant, an excellent place to watch birds. I have to say I was rather surprised by the sheer amount of Mallards located in one of the lagoons. See for yourself.
Yes, those are ALL Mallards. It almost looks like a flock of Starlings!

That is a lot of Mallards. You have gotten some great shot of them. Do they come there every year?
Thanks again Sharon! I really appreciate your beautiful New England pictures while I am down here in Ecuador.
A little New England winter in the middle of the Andes.

Great photos Sharon! It's great to have days with little or no wind this time of year.
That is a lot in one spot. There is an area not far from me that has some mini lakes (for lack of a better word). When I drove by recently, I was amazed at the number of mallards on the lakes.
Wow,Sharon, those shots were really "ducky." It's amazing how they congregate, isn't it? Good job! Sincerely, Susan from writingstraightfromtheheart.blogspot.com
Now, that is a LOT of mallards! I love the way you have started close, and moved out, so we can see the green heads of the drakes in the first couple of shots, and then by the end, just see the masses of ducks in flight!!
OMG....That is AMAZING!
I have never seen that many ducks in any one place, much less all Mallards!

You were so lucky to have found them.
Oh my goodness!! I have never seen so many together!!
