It's been a long day so I thought I'd post something pretty.
My mother finally had her surgery this morning and everything went very well. Tomorrow the PT nurses will have her up and around after breakfast. Glad I don't have to be there to watch. Hopefully she'll finally be able to walk without severe pain in her legs. That pain has worn her down for far to long.
I know this because she has a Hydrangea with a limited amount of flowers but she saves every one of them.
Old fence, old Hydrangeas, and a perfect fall day. A great combination.
Thank you for stopping by

If you'd like to see what type of surgery she had here's an excellent short video to view. Mom had 3 vertebrae fused instead of 2.
One of mom's favorite flowers is Hydrangea so I know she would love these. She'd cut the stems long to place in tall vases for the winter. Then next year she'd do it all over again.

Hope Mom continues to do well and that the surgery helps her to be pain free.
Great photos. Love the hydrangeas they are so pretty in Fall.
Great photos but greater news about your Mom! I gotta feeling soon it will be hard to keep up with her!
Truly beautiful. I too love the hydrangeas and they dry out so well. It's wonderful your mother will be able to rid herself of so much pain and will enjoy her flowers even more. Jeanne
Hope your mom is d oing better. I love hydrangeas but the summer weather here just takes the life out of them. The ones in the photos are gorgeous.
Good news about your mother. Hopefully she will feel all better now. And oh my , your photo's of the hydrangeas are wonderful. Those big bushes and the colour. Great.
So happy to hear your mom is doing well, I do hope the surgery relieves her pain and allows her to be happy and independent again. Lovely photo's....:-) hugs
I'm glad that your mum's surgery went well. I hope she is up and about real soon. My mum and I both love hydrangea also.
Oh, I so hope everything goes well with her recovery Sharon and that she gets the blessed relief she needs. The hydrangeas are beautiful, and your description of your mom and hers made me smile. Have a beautiful day my friend.
"It's been a long day so I'll post something pretty"--Can I steal that line one day?
These are beautiful. Hydrangeas are one of my favorites. My grandmother had two large hydrangeas flanking her front porch. When she died, I took a chunk of them home and planted them in my back yard. Granny blooms every summer, and she's moving to the new house with me.
Good news about your mom!
What a lovely mother daughter couple you are. Hope your mom is back to her active self soon. Blessings to you both.
aww, such a sweet, thoughtful entry! I hope you mum feels better soon and so glad to hear the operation went well. I remember drying some hydrangea leaves as a small child between the pages of a book. They are rather good for doing that sort of thing...I remember the petals felt silky smooth afterwards too.
I'm so glad your mother's surgery went well. Wish her well from me out here in "blog-land!"
Glad the surgery went well. Hope she's up and around with no pain soon. Love the pictures. Thanks for sharing.
I think this may be my favorite post of all you have done, Sharon. You speak so eloquently about the flowers, and your love for your mom shines through. I hope she is feeling better soon. Beautiful works.
love and hugs...
Glad to hear your Mother's surgery went well, and hope she has a fast and full recovery. I know she will be so happy to be able to walk pain free again. Beautiful hydrangeas! Great photo of you and your Mother.
Beautiful photos, as usual!
I hope your mom recovers quickly!
Thank you everyone for your well wishes for my mother! She told me that for the first time in a long time she has no pain in her legs. In her words, 'It's like a miracle!'
The PT's had her up and about for a very short walk this morning. She's feeling a little dizzy and nauseous which is to be expected but should pass in the next couple days. I'm just so happy she's on the road to recovery! My dad is too.
Glad you enjoyed the hydrangea's. Such a splendid flower!
Sharon
Sending good wishes to you both and healing thoughts to your mom.

Hope your Mother is progressing well!
Love the hydrangeas, a firm favourite, my Grandmother use to grow them.
Take care
I love the second photo, which shows the fence needs some loving attention! I love the leaves all over the siedwalk! They make such a wonderful crackling sound when you kick through them! Does anyone walk through fallen leaves without kicking them about?
Hope you mother continues to improve!!
all the best for your mom. and beautiful photos! so very FALL!
Your photography is eye-inspiring... music for the soul.
Hope your mom has a speedy recovery and is up and around cutting Hydrangeas for her winter enjoyment.
Give your mom a hug for me. (I can't hug mine anymore.) I'm glad to read about other people's... it always brings warm memories. As to the Hydrangeas: The shade of pink is so soft and lovely. The blooms would grace any room.
Hugs to you and to your Mom! Hoping and praying she has a good recovery! Beautiful pictures, Sharon.
Gorgeous hydrangeas, Sharon! I love that she saves them all. Love 'em dried.
I am praying for as quick a recovery as she can handle! Glad to hear that the pain has receded.
Beautiful photos and wonderful news about your Mom. Will be praying that she gets the relief she needs.
I just love those flowers against that old wooden fence. They are just gorgeous. I never heard of drying out the hydrangea flower. What happens? They keep all their petals but they turn yellow/tan?
I'm glad the surgery went well, and hope that you're mom will be feeling like her old self real soon!
Sending all my best to your mom, Sharon. Let's hope this helps her.

Beautiful pictures for a beautiful Mom. I do hope she gets on well.

I love your photos! The old fence with the hydrangeas is really beautiful, and the Piscataqua Cafe image is such a classic New England shot. Looking forward to seeing more of your work. I hope your Mom is doing well.
