Happy Halloween!

DSCF8798

We had a nice day here yesterday though the threat of rain seemed to loom. Looking out my living room window there still stands one of the only trees left in our yard with leaves attached. Today we’re under a wind advisory so they surely won’t be around much longer!

Last night, for the first time since before the kids were born, I handed out candy alone.  There was a brief moment of sadness but what a bunch of cute kids we had! One little girl even had a Unicef box, something I collected for as a child as well.

I also realized as I’m handing out candy that I’d never put up any Halloween decorations! I decorated for Fall but that’s it. At least my older daughter and her boyfriend carved pumpkins before they left. The one on the upper right is supposed to be them. LOL! My daughter made that one and put their initials on it. Young love. Creepy!

After today we will be in full holiday mode! Are you ready? Are we ever ready? If you are I don’t want to hear about it. Blast you organized people!

For now let’s just enjoy this scary day!

* If you’re a regular visitor to my blog than surely you’ve noticed it has a little more pizazz than usual. I hope you like the changes! I’d grown tired of viewing a sea of cream so I strained my brain and switched it up. The new format is more exciting to my eye and hopefully to yours too! Let me know what you think!

I like the new look of your blog... You are such a smartie pants at figuring things out. Sorry your girls are not trick or treating with you this year....*sighs* Unfortunately the little punks grow up. BUT, the good thing is that one day they return with cute little punks of their own, called grandchildren, and then the fun starts all over again. ;-)

Have a very spooky day!

I love viewing the tree through your window. I do miss fall being in Arizona. Not much fall foliage here! My family keeps telling me how beautiful the fall colors are this year back home in IL. Even my son noticed the beautiful colors and sent me a photo via his cell phone and called it "The Golden Road".

Your blog looks ready for the fall season. I like your header photo. For some reason, when I called up your page, the whole top section had the html code. I kept refreshing the page, but it's still turning up that way. I don't know if you rearranged the items on your page, too, cause they are all on different spots. Is my computer going crazy cause it's Halloween or what? LOL!

Great job on the jack o lanterns! That is my favorite thing to do for Halloween and then decorating is next. Have a fun night!

I've actually never gotten to hand out candy Sharon, we've always lived so far out in the boonies no one comes! But I feel your loss of the kids being grown. Love the photos, pumpkins and fall leaves! And your blog is always beautiful no matter what you do.

Maybe it's my computer. Something's way off with your site. Maybe you're working on it and that's why it looks this way. Am viewing in Firefox.

Ok. It looks really good here in Internet Explorer. I've been using Firefox lately to view blogs because a couple of them make IE go wonky.

Your site looks wonderful. Has a look of vintage fabric to me and I'm crazy about your heading, that tree is fabulous. Makes me think about dressing mine up too. Jeanne

Happy Halloween to you too! Love the carved pumpkins and the window scene is just beautiful.

(PS - Like Country Girl I'm using Firebox and there is some funky html stuff going on with page.)

I so love your blog! But now... I'm sorry, it must be Firefox, but everything does't look now quite as it should. But I know you are working on it, so I'll just wait. :D

And Happy Halloween! Here in Finland we have All Saints' Day, rather solemn holiday. It suits us Finns so much better that way. ;)

Like your new look! I also got a full screen of all the html stuff, but then as I scrolled down, it eventually cleared. I decorate for Fall, but have not for Halloween since my children were young. Just curious - why did the children do their Trick or Treating last night instead of tonight on Halloween?

Love the new blog makeover. I can see it just fine. Pretty view from your window and the pumpkins are so
adorable.

As for the holidays, I am not ready and I don't want to be ready.
It's too early! I can not stand to see Christmas trees in stores in October. Can we please enjoy one holiday at a time?

Sharon, I looked at the page first with Firefox, and it was wonky like other have said, but it looks totally different in Safari. I've sent you a view of both.

Love the pretty colors/patterns!

The blog looks fantastic, Sharon - I love your new banner, too! Is that a maple out your window? It looks so much like the one we have through our living room window (just posted photos of it over the weekend)... What a windy day Halloween was! I'm surprised we have any leaves left on it at all!... Donna
