The past two week-ends I've gone to Hampton Beach early in the morning to take some photo's of the Annual Sandsculpting Competition that was underway. The first few pictures are from a week and a half ago while the rest are from this past Saturday morning. By Saturday evening the sculptures were completed and judged, however it has rained ever since so I haven't made it back to the beach to take more pictures of the finished products and winners. I will. In the mean time, which one is your favorite? All sand sculptures are sprayed with a glue mixture to hold them intact and will be on display, day and night, thru June 28th.

The sand sculptures are amazing, aren't they? Plum island is beautiful - I love visiting. I hope their beach doesn't completely slip into the sea. I'm not sure what they can do to stop the erosion.
Wow ..I was wondering how they keep those things together...and I also didnt know they used a framing underneath.
My fav was the leaf faced man.
Great images Sharon! It's too bad that many are commercialized but no less impressive!
Such great talent they all have....
The pirate is scary!!

Absolutely Amazing! I am in awe of that kind of talent. Sad that it's temporary.
Actually the pirate was one of my favorites, but I wouldn't want to have been one of the judges, that would be a job....Again thank you for sharing.
The leaf faced man! That would be tough to judge that competition.
I was there Sat. morning...in the rain.
Wow... it's hard to pick a favorite, they are all so extraordinary in their own way. It amazes me to see what talented people can do with sand.
Wow! Those are fabulous. I truly cannot pick a favorite, which is highly unusual for me. Fun. Thanks for bringing these to us.

Hands down, the LEAF FACE GUY! Such wonderful detail in all of the sculptures. Those are some talented people!
Cool Sharon! I like leaf face guy, too, is he some sort of god? He looks familiar but then I did grow up in the woods and all. : )

Just amazing Sharon! My fav's are the tree man, dragon, that bird of course and the kissing fish! Boy it's hard to pick from them all! Who knew so many people were skilled in sand sculpting!!!
All I can say is wow! the face on the old women is amazing. Is there a sand castle college that I have never heard of?
