2 weeks ago, after I dropped my daughter off at work in the early morning, I decided to take a side road and see what's out and about. Sure enough the Wild Turkeys were strutting their stuff! In all I estimated about 40 cruising around the corn field.

Wow I've never seen that many together at one time. I've only seen one here back a few weeks ago so far this year.
Bird life has been quiet here so far.

We have seen them here in Michigan, but I have only seen 6 or so together at a time..was neat to see so many in one shot!
They are sorta ugly :-), but you did a good job of photographing them.

What a beautiful sight even if they aren't the prettiest bird. Bet they're glad winter is over and food will be plentiful! I meant to tell you the 1st pair of swans to be in Lakeland were a gift from Queen Elizabeth in the 1950's and all the swans that we have had over the years are their descendants even now. How neat is that??
There are a couple of fields near us where we occasionally see them. I always do a double take because it seems so strange!
I find wild turkeys so appealing. I love to watch them in our fields. Your photo's are wonderful!

Tis the season for the "boys" to do their fan dance,... spread those tail feathers, plump up their bodies and strut their stuff. This morning I had a smaller flock here in the woods doing the same thing, of course with a loud chorus of gobble-gobble!

The most I've seen is seven together and I never have my camera with me or time to stop.

Aren't the male Turkeys a riot? They really do think they're the cat's meow the way they are all puffed up! Ugly, yes, interesting, you betcha!

Wow! I've never seen such a huge flock of turkeys! I haven't seen any in awhile. I think they've gone away to hide (or hibernate? What do they do in the warm months?) now that it's spring.
They are so beautiful, in a weird kind of way... great photos, Sharon!
