The last time we went to Durgin Covered Bridge, No. 45 in North Sandwich, NH, my husband and I were alone. Today we decided to go back but take the girls with us. Things didn't go exactly as planned. We had a late start, but that was okay. However, it was 36 degree's when we left home and 19 degree's with a blustery wind when we arrived! Andria refused to even get out of the car. Elise and my husband were a little braver but none of us stayed outside longer than a couple minutes. All photo's were shot very quickly!
Here we are on our way down the back road that brings us to our destination.
Fall
Today
And I thought we had a lot of snow! These photo's weren't taken in the same exact location, but you get the idea.
This is a new sign. It wasn't there in the Fall. Since we were legal, we crossed the bridge. The girls didn't care for that too much.
Fall

Fall

Looking downstream
This was a sign we saw several times posted on tree's. I've been up north a lot but I've never seen this before! What the heck are Bear Dogs? I'm assuming they hunt bears?
Fall would be my favorite, though Winter sure is pretty. Maybe I would appreciate Today's photo's more if it hadn't been so bitterly cold! Which season is your favorite?

Bear dogs? That's a new one by me! To see in pictures - winter is my fave - to be there in person - I'd have to pick fall!
When it comes to seasons, fall is my favorite... but as far as your photos from today... I like the winter season photos the best. I did some outdoor photography on Friday, forgot my gloves and when I got to the top of the mountain it was colder than here at home.... had to click click click VERY fast and get back into the truck. Great photos Sharon! Kudos to your photography skills.

I enjoyed the pictures. Fall is my favorite time in the east. It is so pretty. Thanks for going and getting the pictures to show. You should post them for outdoor Wednesdays. Did you click to enlarge the quail on my post. I love their top feather. They are always in our yard. We had a family nest there last spring.
I was interupted...sorry. Again the photos are so beautiful and I would have huddled in the warm suv with your girls;)! Brrr
But regular trespassing is okay, I guess?
I would be very scared of bear dogs!
At least you didn't see the bears! Great photos. I like winter photos when the snow is clean and fresh. Otherwise I like fall.
Fall is always a favorite because it's been so hot and I am ready for cooler temps, and then of course, spring, because everything starts the cycle of rebirth. Beautiful photos of the bridge Sharon. :c)
Stunning photos for both fall and winter which shows New England at its best.
Hey, you took me hiking in your neighborhood and I don't remember once you warning me to watch for bears! ; ) I think I know what that sign means. They just spelled it wrong. They meant no Bare Dogs. Cuz it's so cold and all. If you really think about these things, it will all come to you.
xxooo
what a lovely series of shots...like the fall/winter spin.
thanks for sharing with us.

Bears have been traditionally hunted with the assistance of dogs. The dogs will track the bear and tree it. Takes a fearless dog. But enough of that.
Covered bridges are part of the romance of New England. This is a fun post. Thanks for taking us along.
You live in such a beautiful part of the country. I love the photos! Bear dogs are new to me as we don't have bears here in Western Oklahoma. We have Coon Dogs and Bird Dogs. I think I am with the kids, that cold weather would make me think twice before I climbed out of a nice warm car. Thanks for sharing your trip. Some day I hope to get to your part of the country.
I googled bear dogs and there are such a thing and they do hunt bears.
The winter shots are beautiful but I love the smells and colors of fall. My favorite season.
Fall has its beauty,
January___
beauty also
and the magic of snow.
Aren't you loving that camera? I'm assuming that's the Fuji.
Ahhh. Fall is the most colorful and feels good but I'm partial to the snowscapes, Sharon.
I vote WINTER (in New England).

I do love these shots of the same place in different seasons Sharon. What a huge difference. Not being able to feel the actual cold, I do like the show shots but it must be very unpleasant outside for you.
My favorite season Sharon is summer, but in your photos I'll go with the fall!! These photos and they way you did this was wonderful.
Oh I might know what a bear dog is...my Norwegian Elkhound is a breed that hunts bear, however Ole is too fat to hunt bear and we don't really have any bear so I guess Guineas will have to do...when you stop by my blog today you'll see what I mean.
Hi Sharon,
My faves are Summer and Fall, we went up to VT this past fall and it was just so pretty. We hadn't take that trek in awhile. I like the first snow storm and then I'd like to get out of Dodge...lol
I know I am repeating myself but I sure do like your photos...wicked (lol)pretty !!!
Kathy :)
ps I would have sat in the car too Andria :)
The photos are so beautiful...but since I know how cold it has been here this week...I would have stayed in the car with the girls lol
I love the contrast between fall and winter of the same places. Wow, "bear dogs," that's a new one!
I used to love Winter most of all. Now I seem to mind the cold a little more so I would have to say Autumn is now my new favorite.
Can't get enough of the beautiful foliage here in New England! We aure are lucky!
I have always loved spring best of all. I know it is mud season up where you are, but here in NJ it is sublime.
Your photos are beautiful, Sharon. Thanks for taking us on a little sight seeing tour! :)
xoxo,
Mary
Lovely pictures from a lovely time of year. I am soon moving to Vermont from Virginia and am looking forward to real winters!
